Growing Gloucestershire recruitment firm’s city centre move

A rapidly growing recruitment agency has outgrown its premises and moved to a new base just four months after launching.

gap personnel has moved from Waterwells Business Park in Quedgeley to a brand-new office at Brunel House on Gloucester's George Street.

It follows a string of client wins that saw gap, which specialises in industrial recruitment, secure 10 contracts in its first month of business.

Since then a further 13 clients have been converted, making the Gloucester branch one of the fastest-growing in gap's 30-strong national network.

Headcount at the branch has grown to five, with plans to take on more staff in the coming months.

Regional director Richard Thorne said: "Our old place was becomingly increasingly crowded and was no longer suitable.

"As well as being much larger, our new premises has the advantage of a being in strategic, accessible location near the railway station in the centre of Gloucester.

"I'm sure it will serve us well for many years to come."

Companies that Richard and his team supply workers to include Parcelforce, delivery firm DPD and door manufacturer grouphomesafe.

The branch's client portfolio also includes a removals company, a food manufacturer and several other manufacturing firms in the Gloucestershire area.

Richard added: "Economic conditions are tough but we are growing and winning new clients all the time.

"There is still demand among businesses in Gloucestershire for reliable, responsible agencies that can supply competent workers at short notice.

"For this reason we are optimistic about the future and are predicting further growth in the coming months."

gap personnel is the UK's eight largest industrial labour provider and one of the country's fastest growing independent recruitment agencies.

It already has successful regional operations in the north west, midlands, Wales, Yorkshire and the south west.

gap has identified Gloucestershire and the M5 corridor as its next key growth region, hiring Richard from a rival Gloucester agency to grow the operation from scratch.
