Colleagues and clients of one of Burton's biggest businesses
took to the greens for an annual golf day and raised £500 for
charity.
The cash raised by members and customers of Palletforce, the
UK's leading palletised distribution network, will be donated to
Midlands Air Ambulance.
"Our golf days are always very popular and we took advantage of
the competitiveness that overtakes the players once they hit the
fairways to raise money for a good cause," said Palletforce Sales
and Marketing Director Dave Holland.
"As always our members and customers have done us proud with
their generous spirit."
More than 50 customers and members teed off at the golf day at
the Forest of Dean and money was raised through a Beat The Pro
competition.
The donation to Midlands Air Ambulance comes after Palletforce,
based at Centrum West, donated £4,500, raised through an
auction at their AGM in January, to the charity.
"All the customers and members of Palletforce understand the
importance of our service because they're on the country's trunk
roads day in and day out," said Stef Langford-Brown, Corporate
Fundraising Manager at Midlands Air Ambulance.
"It's only with the support of people such as Palletforce that
we can continue to operate this life saving service. Thank you for
helping us to save lives by saving time."
Midlands Air Ambulance, alongside Cancer Research UK, was chosen
by Palletforce staff as the charities they wanted to support at the
AGM.
Palletforce staff also saw the work of the air ambulance first
hand when their helicopter landed at the network's distribution
hub, which overlooks the A38 in Burton-upon-Trent, last year as it
responded to a nearby traffic collision.
"Midlands Air Ambulance is a brilliant local charity that
provides vital emergency assistance that really can make a
difference to someone's life," said Dave.
