The Nottingham office of national law firm, Gateley has advised on an initial £3 million private equity investment by Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) for Edwalton based mobile patient communication business, Exco InTouch.

The deal, led by Austin Moore, corporate partner in Gateley's Nottingham office and supported by corporate solicitor Toby Preston, provides Exco InTouch with the funds needed to accelerate expansion and take advantage of significant growth opportunities in the clinical technology sector. Martin Bodenham of Advantage Corporate Finance provided the corporate finance advice to Exco InTouch.

Austin Moore, corporate partner commented:  "Exco InTouch has a solid track record in the mobile patient communication market and has supported over half a million patients participating in clinical trials in more than 70 countries.  It's a fast paced, emerging sector and we were pleased to act on this important deal, which will enable them to invest further in people, technology and infrastructure."

Dr Neil Rotherham, executive chairman at Exco InTouch added: "The corporate team at Gateley has proven experience in advising on private equity investments, and from start to finish they took us through the process with ease and professionalism. Their pragmatic approach meant the management team were able to focus on the key issues they needed to deal with and this contributed to a successful transaction."

Exco InTouch is the leading provider of mobile patient communication and management solutions for the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector, with clients spanning nine of the world's top 10 pharmaceutical businesses.
