Gastronomes gallop to Grindleford for glorious Gourmet Break

As the demand for quality cuisine at an affordable price continues to gather pace, The Maynard in Grindleford has created a luxury break away for galloping gourmets everywhere to savour.

The new break is available now until 1 April 2012, but early booking is advised - you would be a fool to miss it! The exclusive gourmet break is available from Sunday to Friday at just £72.50 per person (based on two people sharing a double room) per night; the 3 night package includes a luxury three course dinner every night in the highly acclaimed double AA rosette restaurant and a delicious full Derbyshire breakfast to welcome you each morning.

The dinner menu has been designed by Head Chef Ben Hickinson, a local food hero with a real passion for local produce. Starters include everything from a fabulous Roquefort and Fig Crème Brulee and Tandoori Wood Pigeon Breast, through to popular favourites like Pan Seared Sea Bass and Prawn and Salmon Tian, providing a variety of dishes during your three night stay. Mains include Crab and Rainbow Trout and local Lamb Rump, while the Ribeye of Derbyshire beef remains a classic and a firm favourite with regular diners.

The restaurant and alfresco dining area overlooks the beautifully maintained hotel grounds and benefit from glorious panoramic views of the Derwent Valley. Although only 10 miles away from the bustle of Sheffield, The Maynard is situated within the gorgeous Peak District National Park, making it the perfect destination from which to dine, delve into and discover this celebrated region.

"With a perfect combination of great rooms and award winning restaurant, we can now boast all of the facilities that make The Maynard a great choice for the ultimate Gourmet Break," said The Maynard director Jane Hitchman. "Ben has surpassed himself and created an amazing dining experience for guests to savour, and we look forward to welcoming people to the delights of Grindleford - the food and the scenery."

Each bedroom at The Maynard has been uniquely created by a leading local interior designer and fitted with bespoke furnishings. The Maynard is now the perfect fusion of the old and the new - a sophisticated boutique destination with a historic exterior that still manages to blend seamlessly with the beauty of the local landscape.

In connection with this offer, The Maynard is also offering a third off any superior room upgrade! Just £10 extra per night includes more space to relax as well as fantastic views of the countryside and of course complimentary use of luxury bathrobes. For that extra special break, why not book an exclusive suite? Available for £25 per night, the suites offer the same perks as the superior rooms, but boast stunningly designed bathrooms which contain either a sumptuous roll top or large corner bath for that touch of unashamed elegance, while the suite with the large corner bath also has its own private living room, offering unrivalled views of the landscape.
