Nottingham insurance broker and financial advisor The Wilson Organisation is hosting a free, innovation-focussed forum for East Midlands' family businesses.

The event is to turn the spotlight on the very latest thinking on enterprise and innovation by bringing together guest speakers Paul Norbury partner and private and family business expert at advisers PwC, and Trevor and Linda Fletcher, Directors of the Hardstaff Group which won the highly-contested Innovation category at the 2010 Midlands Family Business Awards.

Charlotte Perkins, MD of Wilsons, comments: "The amount of innovation in the Midlands is quite incredible, and the government has recognised the importance of supporting innovation, enterprise and creative thinking, and its value to the UK economy, following the announcement of a new programme of support for innovation.

"In recognition of its growing role, we are making innovation the theme for our next Forum for family businesses.

"The Hardstaff Group, now in its 150th year, is widely recognised as one of the principal providers of leading edge technology and innovative services to the global and UK road industry, and we are delighted the company's Directors Trevor and Linda Fletcher are to speak at the Forum event, and provide an insight into Hardstaff's approach and commitment to innovation.

"PwC has also chosen the Forum to give an early glimpse in to the findings of its latest 'Enterprising UK' survey. Now in its fourth year, the survey investigates private businesses' ambitions for growth, innovation, talents and skills."

She adds: "These events form part of our portfolio of support initiatives for the family business sector, which also includes the Midlands Family Business Awards. They present the ideal opportunity for family businesses to share experiences and discuss the special needs and challenges they face."

The Family Business Forum takes place at The Carriage Hall, Nottingham on Thursday 20th October 2011. To reserve a place, email: pbriggs@wilorg.com, or Tel: 0115 942 0111.
