The Cube, Birmingham's newest landmark building, was buzzing
with excitement when the godfather of modern cookery, Marco Pierre
White paid a visit to review progress on the skyline restaurant
which is due to open in December.
The eagerly awaited restaurant opening will bring a unique
dining experience to the city with its stunning 360 degree views
from the 25th floor, a rooftop terrace and glass fronted alfresco
balcony.
Neil Edginton, director of The Cube, said: "It was fantastic to
have the opportunity to show Marco how much progress we have made
at The Cube since his last visit. The restaurant is taking
shape and on schedule to open in December.
"The spirit of The Cube as a lifestyle choice and luxurious
destination is really coming together as the different elements are
finished and open to the public."
The Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill will offer a
champagne bar and private dining facilities alongside the
'affordable glamour' dining in the restaurant and is already close
to fully booked until Christmas.
Marco was delighted to be in Birmingham again and said: "I don't
say yes to everything; if I'm honest, I say no to most things,
because very few things capture my imagination.
"I feel very privileged that I've been given the opportunity to
do the restaurant in The Cube. It's quite amazing what your city
has achieved."
"Ever since we decided to open this venue, I have been really
looking forward to seeing how it would take shape. What I've seen
tells me that the final result will be nothing short of
stunning."
Mike Whitby, leader of Birmingham City Council, who attended the
event, said: "I am thrilled to welcome Marco Pierre White to
Birmingham. The Cube as an establishment is important towards the
transformation of our city."
Marco added that the accessibility to the decision makers in
Birmingham was a special characteristic. "This is the only city I
know where the leader will clear time in his diary for you in order
to solve problems and make things happen."
