Expert and enthusiastic volunteers united by an ambition to
improve the community have signed up to support and scrutinise
whg.
Walsall's leading provider of affordable and quality homes has
recruited 15 new committee and board members.
The volunteers were formally welcomed to the organisation on
Wednesday with a tour of its estates and new developments across
the borough. The group then visited whg's Willenhall office for an
afternoon induction.
Among the new members are Walsall councillors Mohammed Arif,
Louise Harrison and Keith Chambers, Stuart Chapman, of Walsall
Tenants and Residents Federation, and magistrate Margaret
Hayes.
The individuals will fill a combination of tenant, independent
and council seats on the WHG Board, VIEW Board or one of the five
local committees, which cover Aldridge and Brownhills, Bloxwich,
Central Walsall, Darlaston and Willenhall.
Helen Lane, whg Governance Manager, said: "Our recent
recruitment campaign has proved a great success and we're very
lucky to have an excellent selection of new members on board.
"Our new recruits possess a range of expertise, areas of
interest and general desire to give something back to the
community, which will be of great benefit to whg and its
customers."
Helen would like to establish a pool of potential independent
members in the immediate future and will also be recruiting a
number of additional tenant members next year. Contact her on 0300
