A family run Mediterranean restaurant, D'arcy's of Shifnal has
moved to a new home in Ironbridge and is now open and trading. The
move has been part funded by their banking partners RBS.
Husband and wife Jim & Jane Morrison have run D'arcy's for
the last 14 years and have previously operated from rented premises
in Broadway, Shifnal. Last November they bought the old Station
Hotel in Ladywood, Ironbridge. They have now completed an extensive
refurbishment of the property and D'arcy's is now open for
business.
The restaurant continues to specialise in Mediterranean inspired
dishes and has 40 covers and is open Tuesday to Saturday from 6pm.
This new home not only increases the size of their business but it
has allowed them to increase staff numbers, as they have taken on
additional staff. They enjoy a very high number of regular clients
who are themselves excited by the move and they are intent on
attracting new diners to the restaurant.
RBS extended a loan to aid in the purchase of the site and they
have also extended further funds to assist with the extensive
refurbishments.
Speaking about the opening, Jim Morrison said: "It is a really
exciting time, but it has also been very hard work - overseeing the
refurbishment whilst also continuing to run the restaurant. This is
going to be great move for us. It provides us with more space to
accommodate more diners, and the fact that we actually own the
premises also makes a real practical difference. This is going to
be our home for a long time and we have exciting plans to develop
the restaurant further over the coming years. We are glad to get
the doors open now and have been welcoming customers old and new to
the new D'arcy's."
Zoe Greenway, relationship manager at RBS who arranged the
funding added: "Jim and Jane have built a popular restaurant. The
site in Ironbridge provides the opportunity to grow the business
further and we are pleased to have assisted in making it possible
and wish them well for the opening and beyond."
