A striking waterfront development is creating waves in Weymouth
and is helping to enhance the growing reputation of a Staffordshire
Architect.
Croft Architecture, based at the Staffordshire Technology Park,
Stafford, has won the appointment to design a new £35 million
residential care village in Weymouth alongside the 2012 Olympic
yachting venue.
After beating strong competition from a number of national
practices to win the appointment, Croft Architecture is now
developing the impressive designs ready to make a planning
application in January 2012.
Managing Director Carl Croft said: "We have developed a
sensitive design which fits well with the harbour side setting and
the extensive facilities will also be available to the local
community.
"I have just returned from a very well-attended consultation
exercise with local residents in Weymouth and we were very pleased
with the extremely positive feedback to our designs."
Carl, 31, of Meir Heath, established his own practice almost
three years ago and offers a full range of design services.
He has worked on several local projects including the Keele
University Earth and Space Centre, medical facilities for Sir
Robert Peel Hospital, Tamworth, numerous school projects and
several residential schemes.
"We have a great team here at Croft Architecture and we have won
work across a wide range of projects from large care villages to
individually designed homes and house extensions," added Carl who
revealed he was looking to take on additional staff due to Croft
Architecture's success in securing new contracts.
