demonstrations
Two Shropshire businesses have joined forces to promote healthy
eating with an innovative cookery workshop.
Kitchen specialists QA Newport will host the sessions at their
showrooms on the Audley Avenue Industrial Estate, with cookery
inspiration supplied by Fiona Asson, of Fish in a Box.
QA managing director, Dave Teece, said: "We decided to join
forces with Fiona, whose business premises are right next door, to
encourage people to eat more healthily and experiment with
fish.
"Many people claim they don't like fish, but Fiona is certain
that anyone who gives the workshops a chance will be
converted."
Fiona will host sessions in the QA Newport showroom using the
in-store Aga cooker, and the aim is to attract 15 enthusiastic
foodies to take part in each workshop.
"The sessions will challenge people's pre-conceptions about
eating fish, and encourage them to be braver in their choices," she
said.
"We'll be looking at the type of fish that's beneficial in our
daily diets, storage, quick tips for preparation and cooking, and
dealing with the issue of bones in fish which concerns many
people."
As well as the taster sessions, the two companies are also
launching a series of hands-on cookery demonstrations where groups
of friends or colleagues can sign up to watch ideas on how to cook
with fish and suggestions for Christmas entertaining.
Dave said: "We're very pleased to be working with Fiona on these
innovative workshops, and as well as learning more about fish,
visitors who take part will get the chance to see just what our
showrooms have to offer.
"We have some impressive kitchen displays on site and we hope
they will inspire our guests to be more adventurous with their
cooking and to make the most of this great opportunity."
