Four members of the BSS Industrial senior management team and
two other intrepid volunteers have completed an exhausting, yet
exhilarating, 215 mile round trip from Paris to Brussels in just 60
hours. The challenge, which started on Thursday 1st September, was
in aid of The Rainbow Trust which supports children with life
threatening or terminal illnesses.
The group was in less than top form with one rider suffering
from a chipped bone in his foot, one receiving physio and another
with a virus - not to mention the team member who had not been on
his bike since the last charity event in 2010. But, by keeping
their spirits high, they managed to overcome their injuries and
complete the mammoth journey with £8,500 raised to
date.
Frank Elkins, Managing Director of BSS Industrial and part of
the fundraising team, said: "Three out of the six of us were
suffering from some sort of injury which just added to the
difficulty of this already monumental challenge. In the end it was
team spirit and the determination to raise money for The Rainbow
Trust which got us through. This is a huge achievement, thank you
to everyone that has donated so far."
In October 2010, the BSS Industrial team travelled through five
countries in 60 hours to raise £8,000 for The Rainbow Trust.
The leading distributor has raised over £240,000 for the
charity through various activities since beginning its support in
2007.
