The chairman of healthcare insurer and employee benefits
provider BHSF is being joined by two staff members when he takes
part in the first Bupa Great Birmingham Run on October 23.
Dr Paul Kanas, running for The Big Build Appeal for a new Marie
Curie hospice in the West Midlands, will be running with Geoff
Guerin, head of business improvement, and Matt Giblin, a customer
support team senior, sponsored for St John's Primary School,
Ladywood.
Marie Curie and St John's are corporate social responsibility
partners of BHSF.
The event, formerly known as the Birmingham Half Marathon, has
the same status as such events as The Bupa Great North Run and will
take place in the city centre.
Matthew, who has recently helped to create a sensory garden at
the school and is being sponsored by work colleagues for the 13.1
mile challenge, said: "As with all schools St John's is always in
need of extra funds for equipment. It is a real community school
and I hope to raise as much as I can to help pupils and staff".
