A Warwickshire-based care centre has received funding from
Barclays Corporate to enable it to expand its care services for
older people.
Bentley House Ltd received the funding in order to develop a
rehabilitation unit at its centre in Bentley near Atherstone. The
unit consists of four bedrooms as well as a nurse's station, wet
room and exercise area. Following the closure of Bramcote Hospital,
the business was awarded a contract from the Primary Care Trust to
offer rehabilitation care for people who have recently undergone
surgery or recovering from a debilitating illness, with the
ultimate aim of helping people back into their own homes.
The centre, which was opened in 1991, offers nursing care for
fifty people including a specialist dementia unit offering beds for
nine and employs sixty four staff. They also have a second care
centre in Stratford-upon-Avon which offers beds for twenty six
residents with five close care bungalows and fifty sheltered
housing properties.
Dr Phillip Bellamy, owner of Bentley House Ltd said: "The new
funding has allowed us to expand our offering by developing a new
unit rehabilitation unit for the local community. Our relationship
with Barclays Corporate and their "can do" approach is valued and
continues to be an important part of our future growth."
Richard Fray, relationship director at Barclays Corporate said:
"We are delighted to help Bentley House Ltd to expand in line with
its business ambitions which demonstrates Barclays Corporate's
commitment to the long term funding and support of business in the
healthcare market. The development of the unit will provide a vital
service to the local community."
