The Purity Brewing Co Limited, based in Great Alne, recently
benefited from the services of their Barclays Business Manager
Katie Ryden, who spent the day working alongside her customer as
part of a pledge to find out "first hand" about her client's needs
and the range of issues facing local businesses.
Katie swapped her pen and calculator for a pair of bright pink
Wellington boots to join Flo Vialan, Head Brewer at Purity Brewing
Co. Katie's duties involved preparing the brewery for
production, getting the hop's and malt organised for the brew,
emptying the malt masher, assisting in the testing of the beer to
ensure it complies with Purity's strict quality measures, and
cleaning down the brewery at the end of the day resulting in a
spotless brewery, and 50 barrels of ale ready to be delivered to
their customer.
Katie, Barclays Senior Business Manager in Warwickshire said,
"As champions of local business, Barclays is committed to
supporting the local economy and I am committed to finding out more
about my client's business to help them achieve their ambitions.
The more we know and learn about our customers the better, enabling
us to provide the right levels of support and advice when required.
This initiative is taking place up and down the country and is one
of a range of measures to support our Business Banking customers to
achieve their goals and grow their business."
Jim Minkin, Finance Director of The Purity Brewing Co. said
"During these difficult times it is essential that you maintain
close links with your bank and ensure they have a genuine
understanding of your business. This initiative has been a great
success and allows my bank to fully understand my business and the
issues I face on a day to day basis."
