A high street bank held a celebratory event for a number of its
staff who have clocked up significant years of service with the
company.
Barclays Bank in the Black Country has seventeen staff who this
month have completed over 335 years service.
Carol McCartney, Hilary Barnett and Hersha Patel are amongst the
staff who have each completed 25 years.
The trio all joined Barclays in the summer of 1986 and are based
at Wolverhampton Queens Square, Wombourne and Oldbury and have seen
a lot of change over the last 25 years - namely the technology.
Commenting on the anniversary, Carol McCartney said: "It's hard
to imagine that when I first started at the bank, we used paper
ledgers and most processing was done by hand! It's wonderful
to enjoy the job you do. Throughout my career I have really got to
know our customers and enjoy having a chat with them when they
visit the branch."
Sara Rolph, Area Director for Barclays in the Black Country
said, "Our staff in the Black Country are very committed to their
customers and the local community. They have all established
excellent relationships over the years and we are delighted that
they have chosen to remain with the company."
