ArcGen Hilta has recruited two Midlands-based apprentices to its
training programme, which will provide them with specialist
training, on-site experience and Level 2 NVQ qualifications.
After leaving school this summer, Matthew Court joined the
apprentice training programme as Apprentice Stores Coordinator. He
said: "I signed up to the scheme to learn new skills in a paid
position. I am really enjoying the challenge and the feeling of
satisfaction I get from the job on a day to day basis."
Matthew has a wide and varied range of interests outside of
work, including the unusual and dangerous sport of crocodile
wrestling! A keen cyclist, he can also regularly be found cycling
to ArcGen's headquarters in Four Ashes from his home in
Wolverhampton.
ArcGen Hilta's apprentice Paint Sprayer, Sam Thomas from
Coseley, Wolverhampton, also wanted to learn and earn at the same
time. Sam said on his appointment: "My long term aim is to secure a
full time job paint spraying, which as a car and track day
enthusiast is a skill which should definitely prove useful."
ArcGen Hilta runs its workshop apprenticeship programme in
industrial applications through the National Government
Apprenticeship Scheme, and the company currently has four
apprentices undertaking their training. The programme provides each
apprentice with the skills and practical experience they require to
undertake their chosen technical positions.
Chief Executive, Mark Hodgkins, said: "At ArcGen Hilta we
champion the need for new skills and training, and we nurture fresh
talent. Apprenticeships are a great opportunity for young people,
allowing them to gain invaluable work experience whilst working
towards a professional qualification. Employees who join us as
apprentices make a considerable contribution to the growth and
success of the company and I wish them all the best of luck."
ArcGen Hilta continually acknowledges the achievements of its
apprentices and is proud that one of its longest serving employees,
John Brogan, who joined the company as an apprentice Electrical
Engineer, is still with ArcGen Hilta over thirty years later, and
is now operations manager.
Today, ArcGen Hilta is the premier provider of onsite equipment
providing messaging boards, mobile generators, welders, lighting
towers, plasma cutters, water pumps and pressure washers to the
rental, construction, rail, water and other related industries.
