APC Overnight has increased pre-tax profits to £3.4
million for the 2010-2011 period. The company also announced that
revenues have grown by 10.34 per cent and turnover is almost
£58 million. The outstanding performance is due to a
number of important factors. These include industry leading
delivery performance and customer service, together with the unique
personal service approach, which has expanded business at a local
level and is helping SMEs to lead the UK out of recession. APC's
Handled with Care services is also helping fresh produce, wine and
food companies extend their reach nationwide.
All of the above activity has been supported by consistent hard
work, and efficiency and cost saving improvements made throughout
the APC network of over 120 branch offices and its regional hubs
and midlands HQ.
"This is another successful year for APC Overnight, despite the
continuing faltering of the UK economy in general we are seeing
good growth and our customers also appear to be bucking the trend.
Each of our depots has worked hard to sell and demonstrate the
benefit of using APC to their customers and this is paying off with
the continual growth we see across the network. Our turnover has
grown and we have achieved over 25 per cent growth in gross
profit. Profit on ordinary activities before taxation was
£3.4 million, compared to 2010's figure of just over £2
million," said Ivor Skinner APC Overnight MD.
"Our success is the result of a team effort involving
every APC depot. The results have been largely due to a continued
focus on sales and costs. Everyone has worked - and continues to
work - hard on driving efficiencies and growing the business across
the UK. By pulling together, APC is providing the best
service possible at depot and hub level," adds Mark Fletcher, the
company's Finance Director.
Each month APC collects, routes and delivers more than 1.4
million parcels. Due to the ever-expanding business APC Overnight
will embark on building a new purpose built multimillion pound hub
soon. The new 128,000 ft2 midlands sortation hub will have more
than double the capacity of the existing site in
Essington.
