All aboard! Rowsley's Peak Village shopping outlet is pleased to
announce this year's Christmas light switch on will be on Saturday
19 November. Santa himself will be doing the honours, whereupon he
will invite children to join him on the Santa Express - which will
depart for Santa's Peak Village grotto, after a magical ride around
the shopping centre!
The Santa Express and the Christmas light switch on are just
part of the range of exciting activities arranged to make Christmas
at Peak Village the best one yet. Santa has had some help with
designing his grotto this year from local schoolchildren from
Rowsley Church of England School, who have helped to ensure that
Santa feels right at home in Rowsley while away from the North
Pole.
Peak Village has the ultimate 12 days of Christmas to offer
shoppers and their families, making Rowsley's Peak Village a great
place to keep the kids entertained while doing the all important
Christmas shop. Kicking off with the light switch on and Santa
Express; Sunday 20 November sees the mini Christmas Dog show in
association with Just for Dogs; while the indoor market opens its
doors on the 19 November and runs every Saturday until 17
December.
Six further opportunities for festive fun follow in December,
with highlights including carol singing courtesy of the Rowsley
School children on 10 December and the spine tingling sound of the
Tideswell male voice choir on the 17 December to help put everyone
in the Christmas spirit.
"It's fair to say this has been a difficult year for many
people, but it already seems clear that people are really
determined to make this year's Christmas celebrations something
special to remember," said Terrence Morgan of Peak Village. "We
have all the shops to give you everything you need for a perfect
Christmas and our Indoor Markets will be packed with great art and
crafts and antiques - perfect for that unusual gift. When you
factor in the entertainment, you are sure of a rousing reception at
Peak Village in Rowsley."
Peak Village is home to nearly 20 retailers including national
names like Cotton Traders, Leading Labels, Ponden Mill, The Cook
Shop and Mountain Warehouse.
The outlet shopping centre attracts 750,000 visitors a year and
offers visitors the opportunity to combine shopping with other
local attractions
