A booming Birmingham business now has more space to work and
play after moving to a larger unit at SEGRO's Kings Norton Business
Centre (KNBC).
Mechatronic Solutions, a leading supplier of automation
solutions, saw its business grow by 50% last year, thanks to a
£1 million contract win to design and build machinery to
produce interior trim for the Range Rover Evoque. This growth has
led to the company relocating from Sheldon to a site in Melchett
Road, KNBC. Measuring 10,261 sq ft, the new unit is double the size
of the company's previous premises.
Taking centre stage at the new premises will be Mechatronic's
kaizen, or playroom, where most of the design team's creative ideas
are generated.
Richard Evans, managing director of Mechatronic Solutions, said:
"Putting the customer first has always been our mantra, enabling us
to build the business, re-shape it and prepare for the future. The
extra working space and kaizen area allows us to constantly review
the way we work and improve our services.
"As well as the Land Rover contract, growth came from an
expansion of our customer base into new industrial sectors such as
business equipment, building products and medical devices. We hope
that during our 10-year lease with KNBC, we can continue to grow
the business into new industries."
Jane Leedham, leasing manager at SEGRO, said: " At SEGRO we want
to do all we can to support businesses. We have a diverse range of
spaces available, perfect for businesses like Mechatronic
Solutions, who need a large unit to accommodate their growing
client base and workforce."
Established in 1986, Mechatronic designs and manufactures
innovative manufacturing systems for the automotive, medical and
industrial sectors, specialising in integrating engineering
solutions with bespoke machinery.
Kings Norton Business Centre is the premier Business Centre in
