Talbots launch new service to help local employers ‘cope’

West Midlands law firm QualitySolicitors Talbots announced its new service for employers, 'CoPe', a service dedicated to helping local employers deal with the challenges of ever changing and complex employment legislation.

For larger organisations, employment law matters are dealt with by a human resources department - however, QualitySolicitors Talbots recognise that this is not the case for many businesses.

"We recognise that for many companies, a full-time human resources person is something of a luxury" said Martyn Morgan, QualitySolicitors Talbots' Senior Partner. "However this does not excuse them from complying with the various pieces of employment legislation bestowed on every employer".

"'CoPe' is a fixed price service based simply upon the size of the employer" comments Jayne Holliday, Legal Executive. "For over twenty years, I have supported both local and national businesses, I know many employers find this particular area of law frustrating and complicated".

CoPe offers advice to employers on both employment law and human resources matters and Jayne is excited at the challenge. Having worked at Higgs & Sons, Jayne is a well-known and trusted face throughout the Balck Country. She joins the Employment team and will work alongside Employment Solicitor Lorraine Adams, formerly of Hadens in Walsall and Rowley Ashworth in Birmingham.

"Enhanced Rights for Agency Workers. Additional Paternity Leave for new fathers and same-sex partners. Extra bank holidays. New discrimination legislation and the removal of compulsory retirement procedures are just some of the challenges facing our clients" comments Lorriane. "At Talbots, we work to allow business owners large and small to focus on managing their core business".

Anyone wanting more information on CoPe can speak to either Jayne or Lorraine on 01384 445850 or email at employment@talbotslaw.co.uk.
