David Symonds Associates, a leading independent civil and structural engineering practice in the Midlands, is reaping the benefits of having its employees all on one floor after relocating its headquarters to SEGRO's King's Norton Business Park in Birmingham.

The company has moved from three storey premises in Kings Heath, where it was based for the past 20 years, to a one-level 1,650 sq ft.site in Imperial Court on a 10 year lease.

Jane Leedham, leasing manager for SEGRO, said: "We are pleased to welcome David Symonds Associates to the King's Norton Business Centre. This bigger space will provide them with the opportunity to expand their client base and services."

Jonathan Symonds, partner at David Symonds Associates, said: "Being on three floors caused a lack of communication between employees so a bigger working space, that is on one level, has encouraged the team to work together more closely and efficiently.

"By moving our headquarters only a couple of miles down the road, there was minimal upheaval for our employees and, for many of our clients, it means we're closer to them too."

Kings Norton Business Centre is the premier Business Centre in south Birmingham, meeting the business space needs of a diverse range of companies. Located on a 24.3 hectare (60 acre) site, its local management team is able to cater for the needs of the occupiers from its on-site regional office. The estate is maintained on a structured basis providing a first class business and working environment, with tenants benefiting from 24-hour mobile security, CCTV coverage and consequential low crime rates.
