Songstress Suzi Lauder is set to weave her vocal web in The
Vaults, Birmingham's most debonair bar restaurant, in a special
themed Thursday set starting on October 6 with special guest David
Saylor, a platinum album recording artist from the 80s who also had
a hit single with Edwin Starr.
Together Suzi & David work under the name of NEO.
Suzi said: "The evening promises to sooth away your working day
with mellow easy listening classics from artists such as Nora
Jones, Crystal Gayle, Carole King, Helen Shapiro, Dusty
Springfield, The Carpenters, The Corrs, Madeline Peyroux, Christina
Perri, Adele, Cole Porter, Joshua Kadison, Sade, Ella Fitzgerald,
Dido, Paramore, Frank Sinatra, Elton John and The Script to name
but a few.
"We like to cover the decades from 50s to present day, with
David bringing a touch of Soul and Motown to the evening.
Suzi has many strings to her bow but in more recent years has
focused on her singing career, performing on the cabaret circuit
and providing entertainment for the corporate world both here in
the UK and in Europe.
Following a celebrity-saturated launch night, Suzi will be
holding court with some of her musician friends at The Vaults on
the last Thursday of every month offering a variety of both music,
guest singers and performers ensuring regulars of variety and
something to keep their attention.
Julian Brown, partner at The Vaults, said: "We know that Suzi
will draw from her extensive experience of the club and corporate
market, and we hope that our customers will feel drawn to join us
for dinner and then take to the dance floor as their evening
progresses.
"Although the first part of the evening is easy on the ear, if
our customers are feeling more energetci Suzi will very quickly
adapt her set to suit their requirements.
"We are launching 'Live at The Vaults' with a one-off Open House
on Thursday, October 6, and are inviting our regular customers,
corporate clients and friends in the media and sporting worlds to
join us.
Suzi's debut album "The Mermaid in High Heeled Shoes" is now
available on iTunes.
In addition to singing at The Vault, she also works in
collaboration with Roy Hemmings in the 60s Soul & Motown
tribute show called "The Krystaletts", where together with Georgie
Green and Haley Berrisford, the three recreate the Phil Spector "
Wall of Sound" and tell the Story of Soul around the UK.
This show is scheduled for The Vault on December 22nd so put
that date in your diary too.
Suzi is a familiar face to those who attended the global
property conference MIPIM in Cannes in March 2010 Suzi was in the
middle of a three months' residency at the luxurious Hotel Martinez
where she performed with both Matt Hoy, currently on tour with Ali
Campbell, and her song writing partner David Saylor for the stars
during the film festival.
The Vaults is currently on the crest of a wave, celebrating
being named as one of Europe's top martini bars, having been
selected for a number of events during the Lib Dem in September,
the filming of scenes for the BBC series "Hustle" and the new video
for Redditch band "New Killer Shoes".
Set in the cellars of a Grade 2 listed Victorian building, The
Vaults is situated below what was a brewery and workhouse and those
has private booths that are reputed to have once been used as
cells.
The private booths can be pre-booked for exclusive parties of
customers and can cater for groups of up to ten. For an invitation
