Shrewsbury-based lawyer John Burrowes is making history,
becoming the first face2face solicitors franchisee. This new
national franchise for law firms sets out to help legal
professionals deliver excellent and personable services to clients,
whilst competing more effectively in the changing legal
marketplace.
On Thursday 22 September, John and the face2face solicitors
management team hosted a launch celebration attended by 65 local
contacts. John Burrowes is pictured with Ray Gordon, Managing
Director of face2face solicitors, cutting the ribbon at John's new
office in the Rural Enterprise Centre, Battlefield Enterprise Park,
Shrewsbury.
John, who has been offering advice on commercial and private law
in Shrewsbury for over 35 years, comments: "I felt it was the right
time for something innovative - operating in a completely new way."
He explains: "In all the time I have been a solicitor the way firms
operate has not really changed. People would go to professionals
they knew but now there is much more choice; changes brought about
by the Legal Services Act are altering the legal landscape
forever."
Ray Gordon elaborates further: "Low-cost providers are entering
the arena, seeing the rise of 'face-less' legal services via the
internet. This may affect the quality of legal advice delivered,
and those clients and businesses wanting a more personal service or
with complex or specialist needs may not be best catered for.
