Peter De Wint Pub sold to Greene King

A landmark Lincoln pub, the Peter De Wint, has been sold to the Bury St Edmunds based brewing group, Greene King.

"There was strong competition for the opportunity to acquire this pub which is very well placed for serving the Moorland Avenue community and general catchment trade of the south western quarter of the city and North Hykeham," said Stephen Bradford, partner at Hodgson Elkington LLP, chartered surveyors who was responsible for the transaction acting on behalf of Enterprise Inns.

"At a time when a lot of pubs are closing it is refreshing to be able to announce a fresh opening," added Mr. Bradford.

Hodgson Elkington LLP has also just brought to the market the Reindeer Hotel on lower High Street, Lincoln, again on behalf of Enterprise Inns.

"Whilst marketing has only just commenced there is already a reasonable level of interest in the property and we remain confident of securing a sale in the near future," said Stephen Bradford.

The property is offered for sale on an untied basis offering potential for alternative uses, redevelopment or a continued pub/ restaurant use.
