Security entrepreneur Sukhi Ghuman has been appointed to the
board of directors of the Homeland Security Foundation of America
(HSFA).
Sukhi, the owner and founder of Octavian Security in the UK and
Octavian Security USA, gained the position after being recommended
to the board for his extensive industry experience, achievements
and knowledge.
The HSFA is a not-for-profit organisation that runs a number of
public safety, energy, health and human services initiatives across
the USA, with the ultimate aim of advancing homeland security and
preserving civil liberties.
Sukhi was elected to the board after receiving a majority vote
and following an extensive review process, which saw him address
the board and take questions from individual members.
Commenting on his new role, Sukhi said:
"We've been operating in the USA from our base in Tulsa for a
relatively short period of time. I therefore see it as a major
achievement and privilege that I've been invited to join such a
respected public body as the HSFA.
"I'm very much looking forward to taking my seat on the board
and working with my fellow directors to continue establishing
successful public partnerships and schemes to help protect
communities and make them safer places to live."
Eric V Brown, President and Chairman at the HSFA added:
"The board was impressed by Sukhi's extensive security
credentials and his passion for public safety.
"He brings with him an extensive network of business contacts,
as well as fundraising experience and a proven ability to get new
ventures up and running. All of these qualities are invaluable to
us and will help the HSFA continue to offer the high quality
service to the public that we're renowned for."
Octavian USA was established in 2010 by Sukhi and business
partner Sam Sangha. In the UK, Octavian has been providing security
and facilities management services to blue chip companies, public
sector organisations and major events for eight years. Sukhi now
splits his time equally between the UK and the USA.
