Nottingham law firm Andersons Solicitors is expanding by opening
an office in Leicester.
Andersons Solicitors, which is based on the Ropewalk near the
city centre, says that despite the economic downturn of the last
four years, the time is now right to reach out to new markets.
Managing Partner Andrew Kelly said: "It's not been easy but
we've managed to ride out the recession reasonably well because
we've been established in Nottingham for 60 years and have a loyal
client base including several blue chip companies.
"We're also particularly strong in employment law, which has
been a rare growth area in recent years due to the rising number of
redundancies and tribunal claims."
The legal market is being opened up to more competition from
October onwards and it's expected that some banks and even
supermarkets will start offering legal services, threatening the
future of some traditional high street law firms.
Andrew, however, believes the best firms will continue to thrive
if they're prepared to rise to the challenge. "Law firms have got
to be able to compete on both price and quality if they're to
succeed. I'm confident we can do that which is why we're looking
forward to establishing our new presence in Leicester.
"We've taken on Leicester lawyer Faizal Essat as a new Partner
to head up the office in the city.
"We'll be offering our full range of services for both private
and business client services. Leicester is of comparable size to
Nottingham but its legal sector isn't so well developed and we
think we can have substantial success there."
