Three Nottingham firms have been appointed as the design team to
deliver a scheme for the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham which
will see the refurbishment of Dunham House, a Grade II Listed
building, and the construction of new low energy offices adjacent
to the house on Westgate in Southwell.
Maber are the architects on the scheme, with mechanical and
electrical consultants Edmond Shipway designing the M&E
services and BREEAM Certification with Price & Myers as the
structural engineers.
The project will involve the demolition of a 1960's office
extension and public toilets at the front of the site to make way
for the construction of a new three -storey office building, which
will be built into the natural slope of the site.
The Grade II Listed Dunham House will be converted to create six
luxury apartments, split over two floors. In addition there will be
external hard and soft landscaping.
"We are very pleased to be working with this new client to help
design a new low energy headquarters, which we anticipate will
achieve a BREEAM rating of Excellent," said Daman Ranby, director
and head of M&E at Edmond Shipway.
Invitations to tender for the construction work, which will be
carried out in two phases, will go out shortly. Work is due to
start on site on the new build phase of the project later this
year. Gleeds are the project managers and quantity surveyors.
