Astle MINI in Grimsby has appointed a new business manager to handle finance and sales.

Donald Smith (30) from Fotherby near Louth has worked at Astle for five years and made the move to MINI Business Manager from the sales team.

His responsibilities include organising finance and insurance and overseeing all of the sales.

"My job is to make the figures work," said Donald. "Once someone on the sales team has confirmed a sale with a customer they then come to me to seal the deal and sort out the finer details.

"I'm really enjoying what I'm doing now; I went for this job because I wanted a change. Now I get to see more people and instead of dealing with just my customers I deal with 10 sets of customers."

Donald left university as a qualified acupuncturist and started working for Astle as a temporary measure while he looked for a job.

"I originally intended my work here to be a short-term thing but I never left!"
