Graham Penny Auctions and Graham Penny Estates have announced
their expansion, following a period of sustained growth for both
businesses.
Graham Penny Auctions, the East Midlands' leading firm of
property auctioneers, has relocated to new premises on the corner
of St James' Street and The Strand in Derby, leaving its estates
division occupying the entirety of its St James' Street
premises.
The company's London auction operation, Must Be Sold, will also
be based at The Strand.
Graham Penny Estates has achieved tremendous success since it
was launched in 2009 and despite the decline in the residential
property market the business continues to go from strength to
strength.
Graham Penny Auctions was founded five years ago and sells
property on behalf of private individuals, charities and local
authorities. It holds seven auctions a year at Pride Park and last
year achieved property sales in excess of £33.3 million. The
company's auctions regularly feature on the BBC1 show Homes Under
the Hammer.
The auction division has also expanded recently, with the
appointment of Andrew Parker as director. Andrew is a well known
face in the East Midlands property sector and will be working
alongside director Graham Penny to further develop the business and
increase sales outside of the city of Derby.
Earlier this year, Graham Penny Auctions retained the title of
East Midlands Auctioneer of the Year, topping the Essential
Information Group's (E I Group) league table for the highest sales
during 2010 for the fifth successive year.
It was also named as the best performing auction house outside
of London in terms of revenue by the EI Group.
The most recent Graham Penny Auction, which took place at the
beginning of September, defied the stagnant property market once
again with 64 properties sold before during and after the
auction.
Commenting on the expansion of Graham Penny Estates and the
relocation of Graham Penny Auctions, director Graham Penny
said:
"Over the past two years, we have seen a steady increase in our
property transactions, despite the current climate.
"We came to a situation where we had to find additional space
when the premises on the corner of St James' Street and The
Strand became available.
"Our management team has almost 90 years' experience in the East
Midlands property market, which is reflected in our unrivalled
market knowledge and marketing expertise."
The next Derby property auction is taking place at Pride Park
Stadium on Thursday 13 October, with another large number of
properties coming under the hammer.
