A new exhibition of work by MA students from the Coventry School
of Art and Design starts this week.
MA 2011 is a collection of exhibitions, screenings,
installations and performances which take place both at Coventry
University and at the Herbert Art Gallery.
Four disciplines of art will be featured in the exhibition,
which opens to the public on Thursday 22 September; contemporary
arts practice, contemporary crafts, graphic design and illustration
an animation.
The person responsible for putting the exhibition together is
Darryl Georgiou, principal lecturer in media arts.
Darryl said:
"There are a number of interesting projects and collaborations
for the public to enjoy and this type of exhibition, which takes
place in temporary spaces, gives the artists and designers the
opportunity to share projects and ideas with the wider public."
The critically informed programme of work done by MA students at
Coventry University is a collection of bespoke and live
projects.
Darryl Georgiou added:
"The variety of work on show at this exhibition is capable of
drawing new audiences into the city with the aim of retaining them
as regular visitors to Coventry and the University. The
University's culture and creativity continue to develop through
both community and industrial links.
"At a time of global economic challenge, the postgraduate
community at the Coventry School of Art and Design are contributing
to the creative industries and designing for our practical
needs."
