A leading firm of financial experts has launched a new arm after adding to its experienced team.

Harrison Beale and Owen, which has offices in Leamington and Coventry, has appointed human resources consultant Gemma Lockwood to head the launch of the company's new human resource compliance service.

The Oxford Brookes languages graduate completed her Post Graduate degree in human resources and personnel management at Coventry University before gaining years of experience in HR departments including The Law Society, The Chartered Institute of Housing and more recently RWE Npower.

Gemma, who lives in Kenilworth, will offer HR advice to HB&O's clients ranging from contract guidance to assistance with staff performance issues and absence management.

"My aim is to help our clients ensure they are legally compliant with existing HR regulations and help them avoid any potential mishaps," she said.

"The cost of getting it wrong is high, it can run into many thousands of pounds, and small employers can really struggle to cover that level of expense."

The HB&O HR Compliance service will see clients given access to ongoing HR support for a set fee, eliminating the inconvenience of any unexpected expenses. After an initial health check, clients will be given advice and support bringing the necessary areas of the HR side of their business up to the required legal standard.

Rob Kendall, managing director at HB&O, said: "We are delighted to welcome Gemma to the team and we are sure she will provide our clients with the high standard of service they have come to expect from HB&O.

"HR compliance is a growing concern for many of our clients and so it made perfect sense for us to introduce this to our comprehensive list of services."

"We are always looking at new ways of developing the business and expanding the range of services we offer to our clients and there are sure to be many more developments in the near future."
