One of Rolls Royce's most senior marketing executives, Richard
Goodhead, Vice President of Market Assessment, will be the guest
speaker at a free networking evening, which is taking place at
Friar Gate Studios in Derby on Wednesday 21st September.
Richard will talk about how the Derby-based company markets and
sells jet engines to business customers. He will explain how the
marketing used to sell a jet engine to a business for hundreds of
millions of dollars - whilst it shares common principles - is
dramatically different in practice from marketing a consumer
product like an MP3 player to the general public.
Rolls-Royce was recently voted the UK's number one business
brand and in 2010 achieved sales over £10 billion. With
39,500 employees globally, the company sells power systems and its
engines feature in aeroplanes designed by all the major airframers,
including Boeing and Airbus, operating in over 50
countries.
Richard's talk will be of huge value to anyone selling products
and services to businesses, or those selling marketing services to
B2B customers. His presentation will touch on a broad range
of strategic and tactical marketing issues including understanding
customer needs and decision making criteria; product development;
campaign management; the customer relationship, advertising,
promotion and branding.
As Vice President of Market Assessment at Rolls-Royce, Richard
is responsible for providing strategic understanding of customers,
competitors, market and economic trends to lead high-level decision
making and strategy.
Richard started his career as an undergraduate trainee and has
held a number of senior positions at Rolls-Royce including Head of
Marketing, and Product Strategy Executive, where he was integrally
involved in securing the exclusive position of Rolls-Royce's Trent
XWB engine on the Airbus A350-1000.
Anyone interested in business is welcome to attend the evening.
Please RSVP as soon as possible to fgs@friargatestudios.co.uk so we
can cater correctly for drinks and snacks, which will be available
at no cost.
The venue is Friar Gate Studios, Ford Street, Derby DE1 1EE. The
evening will start at 6pm with Richard Goodhead speaking at 6.30pm
for around 45 minutes including Q&A. Afterwards, guests will
have the opportunity to continue networking until 8.30pm. This is
the latest in a series of popular networking events put on by Friar
Gate Studios to support creative businesses.
