Organisers of the biennial MEATUP exhibition - the only
dedicated exhibition for the UK meat industry - have announced that
the event will move from Stoneleigh Park to the NEC in 2013.
Organisers YPL Exhibitions - who already hold The Group Leisure
and Travel trade show at the Birmingham venue - were keen to take
advantage of the NEC's central location and world-class
facilities.
Graham Yandell, Show Director of MEATUP said: "Having
successfully launched the show at a smaller venue, we feel that
moving MEATUP to the NEC will provide the opportunity to develop
the exhibition and attract more visitors.
"As a world class venue, and a recognisable brand, the NEC also
provides a range of facilities which are second to none together
with excellent logistics. In fact, we already stage our annual
Group Leisure & Travel Trade Show at the NEC and find staff
helpful and cooperative.
"The MEATUP exhibition is the only dedicated exhibition of its
type serving the UK meat industry and we are serious about its
future. Moving the show to the NEC sends a signal and makes it
clear that we plan to grow and develop the exhibition for both
visitors and exhibitors".
Jane Nicholls, Senior Account Manager at the NEC said: "YPL
Exhibitions and the NEC have been working together successfully for
a number of years, and it is fantastic to be able to now work on a
new launch with them. We are committed to making MEATUP 2013 a
productive and market-leading event in partnership with Graham and
his team."
All sectors of the £24 billion UK meat industry are
represented at the show and this year's event welcomed over 2,000
visitors.
