Year Awards 2011
A construction manager from housebuilder Miller Homes East
Midlands has made it to the final of one of the building industry's
most prestigious awards.
Allen Marshall has been shortlisted in the 'Housing /
Accommodation Projects Under £6M' category at this year's
CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building) Construction Manager of the
Year Awards.
With the awards designed to recognise excellence in
construction, Allen was nominated for his work on the Royal Gate
development in Derby. He made it to the finals after a site visit
from the judging panel, followed by an interview and presentation
process.
Allen will find out if he has been selected as the winner at a
ceremony at the Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane in
London on 13 October.
Commenting on Allen's achievements, Malcolm Ceney, production
director for Miller Homes East Midlands, said:
"We're all thrilled that Allen's hard work has been recognised
by the CIOB. His dedication to providing quality, affordable
housing across the East Midlands should be seen as an example to
others in the industry and he has worked alongside his team to
produce the high level of properties that Miller Homes is renowned
for.
"We wish him the best of luck for the ceremony on 13
October."
The CIOB Construction Manager of the Year Awards have been
running since 1979 and are renowned for the level of judging and
scrutiny that are applied to nominations. Gold medal winners from
each of the 12 categories, representing work on projects of varying
sizes, are put forward for the coveted 'Construction Manager of the
Year' title.
