Stratford-upon-Avon law firm Lodders has welcomed reports that the Government is looking to water down the agency workers directive.

Mike Wakeling, partner and head of the dispute resolution department, said it was "positive news".

He added: "There is considerable concern among employers that yet more legislation in this area could seriously threaten their competitiveness. With the economy so fragile it is another burden which needs to be avoided."
