Leicestershire surveyors expand to meet rural demand

A Leicestershire firm of surveyors has responded to continuing growth in the agricultural property market by extending its rural department. Andrew Granger & Co, who have branches in the city centre, Market Harborough and Loughborough, have taken on Richard Gadd as a graduate trainee surveyor. Richard, who has a degree in rural enterprise and land management, is from Harper Adams University College.

In contrast to some areas of the property market, the agricultural land market is currently performing well in the region. Andrew Granger & Co currently manage over 30,000 acres of agricultural land as well as working in the area of rural lettings, valuations and planning across the East Midlands.

"We are delighted to welcome Richard to the team," comments Rupert Harrison, Managing Partner at Andrew Granger & Co. "He shows a great deal of promise and will undoubtedly enhance our talented team." However, Richard's studies are not over as all trainee surveyors at Andrew Granger are supported through the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence study and exams which will qualify them as chartered surveyors.

Richard, who comes from Nottinghamshire, is delighted with his new appointment. "Andrew Granger is such a well respected company in the area; I am thrilled to be working as one of their team," he says. "I look forward to continuing my training and adding to my portfolio of qualifications as well as bringing additional youth and enthusiasm to the team."

With the agricultural market predicted to remain strong throughout 2011, it looks as if the rural department will be kept busy. "Whilst farmers are experiencing rising costs and have been for some time, the global demand for food, particularly staples of wheat and corn suggests that the rural market should remain strong for some time to come - which is good news for our local economy," explains Rupert.

Andrew Granger & Co is one of the East Midlands' largest independent estate agencies and chartered surveyors. The company employs over 40 staff at its three offices.
