A pioneering education centre for people with mental health
support needs has been launched by Nottingham-based Amity Health
and Wellbeing Centre and Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.
The Recovery Education Centre (REC) in Sherwood offers free
courses to help people learn how to understand, manage and overcome
a range of conditions.
Courses vary in length from a single day to several months, and
include coping with depression, anxiety management, life coaching
and spirituality.
Vicky Standring, team leader at Amity, said: "Through the REC,
we want people to fully understand their illnesses and the
strategies to overcome them."
The REC is based at the Amity Health and Wellbeing Centre which
provides a safe and secure environment for visitors, offering an
extensive range of mental health services.
For more information contact the REC on 0115 9625866 or Amity
