A Midland legal firm has made a bumper donation to emergency
medical charity Midlands Air Ambulance.
Lawyers at Worcester-based MFG Solicitors have donated
£1,000 to the charity - a contribution which will help to
maintain their three helicopters and make sure the latest medical
equipment is available to the charity's paramedics.
Richard Connolly, managing partner at MFG Solicitors said:
"Midlands Air Ambulance do an amazing job helping to save lives at
accidents and incidents across the region. It's a service that
often goes unnoticed but one that does so much for so many.
"Everyone at MFG is proud to be supporting what we regard to be
one of the region's inspirational charities. They attend around 10
incidents every day which underlines how vital their teams and
helicopters are to people who need their help and how much
essential support they offer the traditional emergency
services."
Mr Connolly added: "Staff at the charity's head office in
Brierley Hill were recently the victims of a widely-publicised
armed robbery and thousands of pounds was stolen. They have been
through an awful time which means that more than ever, every penny
counts. It's pleasing to know we're doing our bit to help."
Annie Newell, Fundraising Manager at Midlands Air Ambulance
added: "Midlands Air Ambulance is extremely grateful to MFG
Solicitors. The charity needs £6 million pounds a year to
operate and we receive no government or national lottery funding.
We are constantly overwhelmed by the generosity of the public,
without their donations our service would not survive."
Since being formed in 1991, the Midlands Air Ambulance charity
has flown in over 34,000 missions, averaging 3,000 per year. Their
three high-tech Eurocopter EC135 helicopters cost £6 million
per year to stay operational.
