A funeral directors' in Birmingham has expanded and moved to new
premises after receiving a £100,000 loan from Lloyds TSB
Commercial.
With a trading history dating back to the mid-19th Century, C
Bastock Limited is an independent family business which provides
funeral services across the South Birmingham area.
Having been based in the Small Heath area since the company
began, C Bastock Limited has relocated to a newly refurbished and
state of the art building situated on Church Road in Yardley, in
order to better service the business' regional client base. The
company also has operations in Olton, near Solihull.
After approaching Lloyds TSB Commercial to secure lending
support, £100,000 has been invested to facilitate the
relocation and refit of the new premises.
The business, which is headed up by David Bastock, currently
employs 11 people, but hopes to increase head count in the near
future with a particular emphasis on the recruitment of
administrative staff. After more than fifty years' service, David's
father Terry Bastock is also still involved with the company which
draws on his experience when needed.
David Bastock, director of C Bastock Limited, commented:
"Our business is now in the seventh generation of family
ownership, and over the years, we have worked hard to uphold the
same values of our ancestors, whilst also moving with the times to
provide a modern and up-to-date service."
"We remain fully committed to providing a high standard of
funeral at what is usually a very difficult time for families and
friends. Our new premises in Yardley will provide us with an ideal
location from which to better service our client base which is
predominantly located across the South Birmingham area.
"We have banked with Lloyds TSB Commercial for numerous years
after our previous banking provider was unable to provide the level
of support that we needed. We have found the bank to be incredibly
supportive, particularly when providing the £100,000 loan to
facilitate the relocation and refurbishment of our new premises in
Yardley."
Giles Wheeler, relationship manager for Lloyds TSB Commercial,
said:
"C Bastock Limited is a long-established business with an
impressive trading history that dates back to 1856.
"Our investment and ongoing support of this business is
testament to the clear strategic objectives that David and his team
have outlined in order to maximise future growth in the company and
we were able to provide funding to support this move.
"Our teams of relationship managers are able to provide a range
of tailored support to businesses, whether they are looking to
increase headroom, move to new premises or take on larger
contracts, and in the first half of 2011 we provided £6.7
billion of gross committed lending to small and medium sized UK
businesses."
