Businesses are to be given up to the minute legal and insurance
advice at a free to attend employment law seminar.
The event is being held to demonstrate the advantages of taking
up an employment law and insurance package offered by Knights
solicitors llp and JSW Insurance Services .
The Newcastle-under-Lyme based professional services experts are
working together to provide business organisations with a one stop
solution should they need to defend a claim by an employee at an
Employment Tribunal or in the courts.
The seminar is being held at the offices of Knights solicitors
llp at The Brampton, Newcastle-under-Lyme, on Tuesday 13
September.
Speakers will include Callum Taylor, Head of Management
Liability at insurance giants AXA - the company behind JSW's
Management Liability Protection (MLP) insurance package - and
representatives from JSW Insurance Services and Knights.
Management Liability Protection from JSW gives a wide range of
cover to businesses against employment issues.
JSW clients who buy the insurance protection will have the
benefit of Knights' specialist employment team for legal advice if
they have cause to use the insurance service.
Nathan Walton, Managing Director of JSW Insurance Services,
said: "We are delighted to be working alongside Knights. The
Management Liability Policy effectively passports our clients to
the best possible legal advice. The agreement gives company
executives and HR managers the chance to tap into a one stop
resource for their employment law and insurance liability
needs."
Christine Dyson, employment law partner at Knights, confirmed:
"In 2010 therre were almost 250,000 tribunal cases legal costs of a
straightforward unfair dismissal claim can easily reach
£10,000 plus VAT and for a contested discrimination claim,
typically lasting five days or more, the cost may well exceed
£20,000 plus VAT."
Nathan continued: "The cost of litigation through the courts is
inevitably much higher still. In these cases, the safety net
provided by our MLP cover is invaluable. The agreement with
Knights means they will be our solicitors of choice to provide
legal advice for clients should our MLP cover be triggered."
Knights are recommending that business clients should consider
Management Liability Protection and although clients are free to
choose any package on the market, most of their clients are
currently choosing the AXA policy available through JSW Insurance
Services.
The Newcastle-under-Lyme event will commence at 4.30pm with
registration with key note speeches at 5pm followed by drinks and
an opportunity to soclialise and network with light refreshments.
Online registration is available for those wishing to attend at:
