A former forensic scientist has set up a Shropshire photography
business specialising in natural, spontaneous pictures capturing
family, animals and events.
Richard Dawson prides himself on giving customers a unique
experience and creating natural and fun portraits - and his past
experiences have a big influence on his creativity.
He says: "I was a Forensic Investigator in the police forensic
laboratory at the headquarters in Worcester and examined exhibits
from crime scenes for fingerprints and DNA.
"I also attended major crime scenes using high intensity light
sources and chemicals to detect latent fingerprints and footwear
marks and was a qualified Scene of Crime officer. But my passion is
photography and I also helped set up and develop the new forensic
laboratory digital photography system.
"I have always been involved in the industry and was awarded a
Licentiateship of the Royal Photographic Society at the age of 19.
I also worked for one of Shropshire's top wedding
photographers.
"Following my forensic work I wanted to return to my roots in
Shropshire, and decided that I wanted to pursue my passion for
photography.
"I really enjoy taking pictures and I am very lucky that it is
also my job. As well as wedding, portraits I am also a experience
equestrian photographer and attend point to point races and show
jumping events."
Richard provides portrait photography in Shropshire and the
surrounding area, at client's homes or a location of their choice,
and can follow families through their life experiences - from
engagement to marriage, pregnancy and the birth of a child to
special birthdays and more.
