Now, eighth generation baker Sarah Yates has taken on the role of promoting and selling wedding cakes to the newly-weds of the future.

As part of her role, Sarah will be attending a host of wedding fayres in September and October.

"We've supplied wedding cakes to generations of newly-weds in Derbyshire and we are looking forward to meeting the brides and grooms of the future to talk them through the various options when it comes to wedding cakes."

Luke Evans Bakery sells direct to the public from its shop in Green Hill Lane and supplies around 300 trade customers, including shops, schools, delis and Pride Park - the home of Derby County Football Club.
