An award-winning, luxury hotel in Warwickshire has added to its
eco-friendly reputation, by planting 10,000 trees and plants in its
grounds.
Ardencote Manor Hotel, Country Club and Spa, in Claverdon, has
continued its 'green' initiative, by reaching the tree-planting
milestone at its 83-acre estate, as part of an ongoing attempt to
reduce its environmental footprint.
The idyllic countryside venue has already been recognised for
its commitment to the local environment, by becoming the first
company in Warwickshire to be awarded with the County Council's
prestigious Environmental Certificate.
Since then, the energy-saving estate has reduced waste by
investing in eco-friendly alternatives throughout the hotel.
Auto-switching lights have been fitted inside the building and a
computerised room temperature monitoring system has been
installed.
In addition to its energy-saving solutions, the hotel recycles
85% of its waste and purchases fruit and meat from local
outlets.
Azhar Mian, Operations Manager at Ardencote Manor said, "Our
'green' initiatives are a vital part of maintaining the Ardencote
estate, whilst also making sure that we do our bit for the
environment, by setting a high standard as an example to
others."
Ardencote Manor also attributes a great importance to the local
community, by recruiting staff from nearby schools, colleges and
neighboring towns. The hotel hopes to become a business icon,
setting an example through its continued support to the local area
and environment.
The four star hotel is now looking into recycling food waste, by
turning the remains into compost using a rocket system. It is also
planning to introduce energy-saving lighting into the car park and
tennis court.
