From mid-September, Edgbaston businesses, students and residents
will be able to enjoy a mouth-watering selection of fresh salads,
sandwiches, croissants and coffee from The Deli at Edgbaston.
Located across the road from Simpsons Restaurant and St George's
Church, The Deli at Edgbaston is set to create a new destination on
Calthorpe Estates for high quality take away and eat in food.
The owner Simon Dunmore, who also owns the 'The Grocer in
Edgbaston', spotted an opportunity to serve the growing passing
trade around Edgbaston with a new variety of breakfast and
lunchtime options. He said: "As a retailer in the area, I know
people are looking to vary their take away meals with more healthy
alternatives and I saw a challenge to create something different
for a competitive price.
"We will be offering an interesting selection of sandwiches, but
our salads will be truly magnificent and provide exotic
combinations of fresh, seasonal ingredients that are healthy and
delicious."
The Deli at Edgbaston will be open from 7am to 3pm from Monday
to Friday and will have some bench seating for customers at the
front of its striking glass premises and further seating
upstairs.
A lunch time buffet service will supply local business and there
are plans to further develop to provide hot food from November.
Natasha Walkden, Sales and Marketing Co-ordinator for Calthorpe
Estates believes The Deli at Edgbaston will be a huge success.
"Through our Calthorpe Business Alliance and working with
existing and new customers on the Estate, I know that everyone is
keen to have a choice of quality food options for breakfast and
lunch. We have been working hard to encourage people like
Simon to create new food destinations and his experience at The
Grocer in Edgbaston is a great asset for understanding what people
are looking for."
