Coventry University has risen 30 places to 53rd overall in the
Sunday Times University Guide 2012, making it the second highest
climbing university in the UK.
The guide, which will be published this weekend in the Sunday
Times, also ranks Coventry University 9th overall in the Midlands
and 5th best in the region for teaching excellence - ahead of
Warwick University, the University of Birmingham and Aston
University.
The latest rankings come off the back of a strong performance
for Coventry University in the National Student Survey 2011 - in
which its students voted it best modern university in the Midlands
- and a leap of 24 places in the 2012 Guardian League Table in May
which saw it ranked in the top 10 of modern universities in the
UK.
Professor Madeleine Atkins, Vice-Chancellor of Coventry
University, said:
"We are delighted to see that the improvements we have made over
the past few years are now beginning to show in the league tables.
In particular, the results demonstrate our focus on providing a
quality academic experience for our students so that they achieve
good grades and are successful in finding employment."
