Button Legal's CQS accreditation
A Coventry law firm has proved to have all the right qualities
to earn a major industry accreditation.
Button Legal, in Warwick Road, city centre, has been awarded
accreditation by the Law Society-administered Conveyancing Quality
Scheme (CQS). The scheme is aimed at providing a recognised quality
standard for residential property transactions, deterring fraud and
generally providing assurances to the industries other key
stakeholders, such as Lenders, Insurers and most of all the
public.
All CQS member practices will be subject annual re-accreditation
with periodic reviews of their processes and procedures to ensure
that the quality standards are upheld.
All law firms are invited to apply for accreditation and have to
undergo rigorous scrutiny from the Law Society to qualify. Annual
checks will be carried out to ensure the highest standards are
maintained and if a law firm fails to keep its standards up or
comply with the scheme requirements, it will be removed from the
scheme.
Nick Button, senior partner at Button Legal, said: "I believe we
are one of the first practices in the region to earn the CQS
accreditation which is a great achievement. It underlines the high
quality of service we have always provided and our commitment to
continue delivering that level of service to our clients.
"The CQS also offers more protection for consumers by setting
higher standards in conveyancing practice which will benefit the
public. By using firm's that are part of the CQS they will have the
peace of mind their matter will be dealt with diligently and
safely. Property solicitors adhere to strict criteria in terms of
how they undertake conveyancing work such as practices employed
when dealing with clients and lenders and how a matter is managed
and risks assessed.
"Ultimately, it's a win, win situation for clients looking to
deal with reputable law firms and for the law firms like ours which
are committed to maintaining the highest industry standards."
Approximately 350 firms up and down the country have, so far,
passed the rigorous standards imposed by the Law Society with about
600 other firms waiting to hear.
