Baggaley Maintain, the responsive repairs and maintenance
division of Herbert Baggaley Construction, have been awarded two
new contracts.
The first contract they have been selected for is the Sanctuary
Housing Responsive Maintenance framework, giving them the chance to
share in a total of £4,000,000 worth of contracts over the
next 4 years. They were one of eight contractors chosen for the
regional framework covering South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire
and Lincolnshire. Sanctuary has responsibility for
approximately 3,700 houses situated within this area.
Baggaley Maintain's services will primarily be used to support
Sanctuary's existing directly employed labour. It will see the
division carrying out responsive repairs and void property
refurbishments along with providing out of hours emergency cover
through their 24 hour helpdesk.
The second contract, worth approximately £75,000, is with
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, providing adaptations for
disabled access at 24 fire stations throughout Derbyshire. The 12
week contract commences in September and will include the creation
of parking for blue badge holders, the installation of handrails
and access ramps, increasing the width of door openings and the
laying of tactile paving.
As the works are mostly to the exterior of the buildings,
unrestricted access and exit for emergency vehicles will need to be
maintained at all times. Additionally, alternative pedestrian
access routes will need to be created.
Ian Baggaley, Managing Director at Baggaley said: "We are
thrilled to have been chosen for the regional framework with
Sanctuary which will provide a welcome source of regular work over
the next four years. We are also really pleased to have won the
contract with Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service, which will
build on the relationship we currently have with them. These two
new wins will contribute to the continued growth of our Maintain
division."
