Britain's newest energy supplier Co-operative Energy has signed
up its landmark 10,000thcustomer just 12 weeks after its official
launch.
The new-to-market gas and electricity provider that has pledged
to give its customers a fair deal with a single tariff and
transparent pricing welcomed Ann Parkes of Dudley as its 10,000th
customer this week.
Mrs Parkes said: "I switched to Co-operative Energy because I
like their straightforward approach. The prices are competitive
and, as a co-op member, I know I'll earn points on all my energy
spending."
The news marks a highly successful start for Co-operative Energy
and according to Ben Reid, the Chief Executive of Midcounties
Co-operative, the driving force behind Co-operative Energy,
underlines the public appetite for new and fair energy providers.
He commented: "We're delighted to sign up our 10,000th customer so
soon after launching. It proves that our straightforward approach
and competitive pricing is popular.
"The British energy consumer has suffered from complex tariffs
and confusing pricing for far too long. With Co-operative Energy
we're putting our values of trust and honesty back into the energy
industry."
Ben Reid presented Mrs Parkes with a hamper of Co-operative food
to celebrate the milestone connection.
