The wheels are in motion for bus operator London United's new
uniform after the company extended its contract with premier
corporate clothing supplier Incorporatewear.
The roll out in October will see around 2,000 drivers wearing
the new navy and white outfit around the capital.
London United, previously known as Transdev, began working with
Incorporatewear two years ago. Now with new ownership, the
Twickenham-based bus company has extended its contract with the
corporate workwear provider for four more years.
Brian Rafferty, Purchasing Manager at London United, said: "We
originally chose Incorporatewear following an extensive tender
process as they demonstrated the right mix of quality, service,
price and support systems that best fit our needs.
"Following a merger with our parent company, we elected to renew
with Incorporatewear as they were best able to respond to our
desire to rebrand the uniform in the shortest time frame."
The new uniform will include navy men's and ladies tailored
trousers, long sleeve jumpers, knitted tank tops, white long and
short sleeve shirts, driver bags and striped ties in the London
United livery.
Incorporatewear originally won the contract after wearer trials
received rave reviews from the bus company's staff.
London United employs more than 2000 staff and maintains a fleet
of some 885 buses. It has received national recognition, including
being named Public Transport Operator of the Year and Bus Operator
of the Year at the London Transport Awards.
