Specialist legal firm Cartwright King which has offices in Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Birmingham, Sheffield and Gateshead, has again been named as the No. 1 firm in the East Midlands for crime in the 2011 edition of Legal 500. It comments that the firm stands out because of its broad team of very experienced specialists and for the sizes of its dedicated crime teams.

The Sheffield office of Cartwright King has also been ranked No. 1 for crime in Yorkshire and director Mark Fowler, head of the serious fraud team, is specifically mentioned. The Birmingham office is ranked for their criminal work and specifically recognised for white-collar crime, fraud and regulatory work. David Roy, Jenny Collins, Arif Iqbal and Fiona Warman are all picked out for their 'outstanding work in the West Midlands'.

Other rankings include Health & Safety in the East Midlands and Yorkshire, with the team being acknowledged as 'A terrifically professional service combining a combination of real specialist knowledge and a reputation for attentiveness, compassion and knowledge in relation to investigations and formal interviews'.

Amongst other individuals selected for mention were fraud specialist Mark Wilson, for his "lateral thinking, commerciality and excellent technical knowledge" and Lynn Bleakley for her "technical expertise and deep credibility" along with Andrew Brammer and Michael Thurston.

Michael Thurston, managing director, said "Cartwright King is committed to being a specialist and expert practice focusing on specific areas of the law. We are therefore delighted that, for the seventh year running, we have been recognised as leaders in our fields in the Midlands. We have successfully grown our Sheffield office and established ourselves in Birmingham over the past years and the rankings reflect the hard work the teams have put in."
